What is Awana?

Awana is fun with a purpose!

Awana blends Bible teaching and scripture memorization with tons of fun.  The aim of Awana is to take kids a step deeper into God’s Word while giving boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Key components of AWANA include scripture memory and game time. Children learn scripture in several fun ways, including scripture set to music and through their handbook time. They receive rewards for their accomplishments and the game time adds a great element of fun that keeps the kids coming back week after week.

The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.  Awana partners with parents to raise up children who know, love, and serve Jesus: children who are proud to share their faith and enjoy serving God with the gifts and talents that He has given them.
